Description:
This is wonderful French provincial period Louis XVI Secretaire a Abattant that dates to c. 1780-1790. The secretaire was crafted of solid walnut with beautifully figured walnut on the drop front and drawer fronts. The secretaire appears to be all original with one replaced drawer pull and one lacking ring on an internal drawer; the leather on the writing surface has been replaced. The secretaire is detailed with brass outlining, carved outset 3/4 side columns and figuredd wood. The interior features three small drawers and a center cubby below two book shelves. The secretaire is in overall very good condition with normal and desirable patination and wear.
