Description:Pair of mid-20th century Ecole des Beaux Arts, Paris, academic drawings of Roman statuary at The Louvre. These drawings were created by J.L. Clemenceau while a student at the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux Art, Paris in the 1940's. The sketches appear to be the preliminary drawings to the more finished rendering. J. L. Clemenceau went on to become active in the post war Parisian art scene and a recognized Parisian art instructor. Clemenceau is listed in the Benezit art reference guide. I am listing separately a second pair of finely executed drawings of roman emperor busts that date to the same time period. Thanks for visiting.
