Description:
This is a great pair of rare and highly desirable English Regency-style Tole Lanterns of Chinoiserie form. these unique lanterns date to c. 1880-1920. The glass has been replaced with seeded glass. One of the lanterns has a couple of minor restorations and one "leaf" is lacking; the other is in its great original condition. I believe that the painted surface is original, but it has possibly been refreshed. A single lantern of the form is unusual==a matched pair is very rare.
