This is an unusual pair of mid-19th c. French walnut chauffeuse (fire side) or child chairs. It appears that the original caning is intact and the finish is original; the legs are double pegged to the frame indicating a period method of fabrication. These chairs would add character to any traditional room or even mid-century for a touch of depth.
