Description:
This is superb mid-century, c. 1940-45 French Academic charcoal sketch of a sitting nude posed with her back facing the viewer. The sketch was executed by J.L.Clemenceau. Clemenceau graduated from the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux Arts and later went on to become a noted French paintings teacher. The artist caught the quality of emotion in the scene which has elevated the artistic level of the work. Thanks for looking.
