This is an exceptional example of a Japanese Meiji period high relief cast bronze vase depicting a pair of cockerels or ho-ho birds. The vase has been beautifully fitted as a lamp. The height of the lamp, including shade is approximately 38-40 inches. The height of the vase is 18 inches. The high relief casting is in excellent condition with the cockerel leg spurs remaining intact.
