Description:
This is an exceptional desk fabricated by Kittinger Furniture c. 1940-50. This desk is an exact replica of the desk given to George Washington in honor of him being elected first president of the United States. This desk was crafted of solid and veneer mahogany over a solid oak case. Kittinger made a couple of other "George Washington" desks, but this particular model is most desirable and most uncommon. The desk is in excellent and original condition. The top surface has been professionally french polished over the original finish. The desk features seven working drawers and nine dummy drawers. Another remarkable feature is  the unusual detailing of 32 brass pulls. The fluted legs end in sturdy brass sabots. All elements of the desk are original. Thanks for visiting.
