This is a highly decorative Japanese lacquer hibachi of pumpkin form that dates to the late Meiji/Taisho period. The hibachi is in overall excellent condition in a stunning bright pumpkin-orange color. The hibachi retains its original brass liner--it would make a fantastic orchid container.
