Description:
Japanese Edo period floor screen depicting a scene from "Tales of Genji". The screen is quite large and maintains strong mineral pigment colors on gold leaf and paper. As  shown in the photos, the screen has had restorations to several tears and would benefit from further restoration. The original silk brocade border, frame and applied brass decorations remain in good condition. Because of condition, the screen is being sold as a decorative element.
