Description:
This is a great English Baroque style carved gilt console that dates to the last quarter of the 19th century. The console retains its original gilt surface; there are some minor restorations to the carved details. Some of the carving is applied. The grey marble top is original and shows great patina to the surface. I have include a photo of the original maker's label; unfortunately, some of the label has worn off so it is not really possible to ascertain the maker without a more detailed search. Roberto has not worked his magic on the console, but when it is completely spiffed up, I will add more detail photos. Thanks for visiting.
