This is a great example of a late Chin Famille Verte Chinese Export Porcelain Ginger Jar that has been fitted as a lamp in the mid 20th c. The porcelain body dates to late 19th or early 20th c. and is notable for its famille verte coloration--the design is traditional featuring cockerels and foliage. This form of lamp works beautifully in a traditional or antiques-based interior. It could be paired with a Famille Rose lamp of similar size that I have listed separately.
