This is a very good example of a sterling snuff box veneered in tortoise shell which has been inland with fine sterling detailing surrounding the lid. There is an inlaid sterling reserve which has not been engraved with a monogram. The richness of the tortoise shell together with the fine sterling inlaid detailing makes this a quality addition to a refined collection.The box does not bear any hallmarks, but is assumed to be English. There is a small crack to the bottom of the box and normal anticipated patina.
