Petit Lois XVI Walnut Secretaire a Abattant, c. 1790-1800
This is a charming petite walnut secretaire a abattant that dates to the late 18th c. or early 19th century. The secretaire has the more common fall front top section with a two door cabinet conformation for the lower section. The secretaire retains its original waxed surface and has a fine original deep natural patina. It appears that at some point in time an attempt was made to modernize the secretaire by the addition of toupie feet; otherwise, the secretaire appears to be in its original late 18th century condition.
Country of Origin: France
Materials: Walnut
Creation: 1790-1800
Inventory No: Petit Sec. Abattant
