Pair Large Late 20th Century Brass Giraffes, After Sergio Bustamante

$6,500.00

This is a superb pair of late 20th century tall brass giraffes in the style of Sergio Bustamante. The tallest giraffe measures an impressive 52 inches high and the second giraffe measures 37 inches. Both giraffes are in overall very good original condition. They are painted in a textured black to outline their typical giraffe markings. The giraffes are priced per pair; we will sell the giraffes individually. These figures would add a surprise to any room-especially one designed classically.

*Sergio Bustamante is a Mexican artist and sculptor. He was born in Culiacan, Sinaloa, in 1949, and studied architecture at the University of Guadalajara. Bustamante's first art exhibition showcased paintings and papier-mâché figures at the Galeria Misracha in Mexico City in 1966. In 1975, Bustamante was part of a group of artists that established the "Family Workshop Studio" in Tlaquepaque, Jalisco. In the mid-1970s, his practice expanded to include wood and bronze sculpture.
