18th Century Finely Carved & Gilt Wood Frame
This is a finely carved late 18th century Italian frame featuring traditional carved and gilded neoclassical elements. The frame is in remarkably good condition considering its nearly 250 years of life. It was apparently separated from its intended small painting and now frames a high quality antique print of the Madonna and Holy Child. A mirror could easily replace the print for a different decorative effect. Alternatively, a small period appropriate painting could be added. This is an exceptional frame which merits great positioning.
