This is a good example of early 18th century Italian solid bronze pricket candlesticks. The tripartite base is supported by ball feet and is detailed with a hammered design. These large sticks measure 22 inches in height, excluding the pricket. One stick is very slightly off vertical, which is common in candlesticks of this age, considering their many years of use. The bronze has acquired a rich natural deep patina. We prefer to leave the patinated bronze surface in tact; however, the candlesticks could be polished. Even after over 300 years of use, these candlesticks are still appropriate for 21st century use. Their profiles bring focus to modern design. The measurement is to the tip of the pricket. The measurement to the drip pan is 22".
