Description:Stunning set of 6 Pierre Patout (1879-1965) Dining Chairs in Art Moderne style. These chairs were designed by Pierre Patout c. 1956-58 and are almost identical to a documented set of Pierre Patout chairs designed for the Bibliotheque Municipale de Tours, France. Patout, a close friend and associate of Jacques-Emile Ruhlman, is best known for his Deco period interior designs for the SS Isle de France the SS Normandie. Additionally, Patout was a well-respected and very active French architect of the first half of the 20th c. This set of dining chairs retains its original surface with fine white leather upholstery of a later date. The leather is in excellent and slight patinated condition.
