Beautiful pair of mid-20th century Japanese Kano Style Screens. The duck theme for these screens is beautifully detailed in tempera over gold leaf bordered by silk. The reverse is in the traditional Japanese hand made paper. The screens are in excellent condition with no loses to the painted surfaces, punctures or tears. The large expanses of gold leaf are also in excellent condition. These screens would complement a traditional interior design, as well as mid-century modern.
