Description:
Beautiful Maison Jansen (attributed) Black Lacquer Center Table. The table dates to c. 1940 and, although unsigned, it conforms to other signed Maison Jansen tables in all of its design elements. The smoked eglomise glass insert is identical to recognized signed Jansen tables, black piano lacquer, regency style, detail of carving, as well as overall quality of the piece. Jansen signed only 30% to 40% of its pieces out of respect for its clients (reference: "Jansen"). The table is in excellent condition with minor invisible repair to one of its legs. The black lacquer has been refreshed and the eglomise top has a few minor scratches. This is a wonderful table and would be an addition to any space.
